than 400 independent clinical studies have proven that the UVB
Narrowband PL-L/PL-S lamps are safer and more effective than any other
lamps in their class. The PL-L/PL-S versions provide additional design
freedom for system manufacturers since these are space-saving compact,
single-ended lamps. Further flexibility is assured since they use the
same lamp caps as general lighting lamps, they also use the same
universal ballasts. Their best-in-class treatment effectiveness is a
result of their very narrow waveband emission: between 305 and 315 nm
with a peak at 311 nm. This is the most effective waveband for the
treatment of psoriasis, and is therefore much more focused. As a result,
exposure times are much shorter and this in turn leads to a reduction
of side effects such as reddening of the skin and itching. All of this
makes them ideal for phototherapy treatment of diseases such as

Irradiation
should continue for 30 seconds by placing a tester directly on skin (on
arm or leg). On the next day the skin surface color will change.
If
you have 2 spots on your skin in place of the biggest holes of a tester
(after 30 seconds of irradiation), it means that irradiation should be
shorter than 30 seconds.
If you have 5 spots on skin after 30 seconds of irradiation, then you should shorten irradiation time to 20 second, for example.
In case you do not have any spots on your skins, then you should extend irradiation time to 1 minute, for example.
As
everyone has different skin and hair color, the irradiation effect can
be different, so it is better to start irradiation from 15 to 20
seconds. If the skin accustoms to irradiation, you will be able to
extend irradiation time under doctor’s control
SPECIAL COVER - thanks to special cover you can irradiate small and hardly-accessed places on your body, e.g. end of fingers, elbows, knees, etc. The size of a special cover can be easily modified using scissors or knife.
Phototherapy (or light therapy) is available to persons who in normal contact with the sun will experience worsening of psoriasis. This is due to the fact that in the case of dermatological exposures UV radiation are selected. UVB exposure is significantly safer than UVA. Therefore, it can be successfully used by pregnant women, children or people with serious liver disease or cataracts. Phototherapy for psoriasis involves regular exposing the affected area to the ultraviolet radiation. UVB radiation is absorbed mainly by skin, so that it is possible to eliminate symptoms of psoriasis. Phototherapy can be used both to larger areas of the body, as well as on the specified skin location (eg : hand, head and face). The treatment is generally well tolerated and safe for patients. 85% of patients with psoriasis respond to UVB, and they constitute the largest group subjected to phototherapy. UVB therapy should be consulted with a dermatologist.
HOW TO USE THE LAMP: Distance from lamp to skin: approximately 4-6 cm. Standard irradiation time: 20-25 seconds, 4-5 times per a week. If the skin becomes accustomed to UVB light, you can extend irradiation time up to 3-5 seconds by every session.
We strongly recommend to consult your doctor to determine the best irradiation time and treatment plan for you. Wear UV-protective glasses when the lamp is turn on.
