My call sign is KJ6ZWL.  This business is our passion!  We have been in business since 2013 and have sold over 75,000 cables.  Our BlueMax46ers cables work.  We provide same-day shipping on orders received before 3 p.m. Pacific Time from San Jose, California.  Here are more reasons you will want to purchase this cable from BlueMax49ers.

Our customers' first problem is finding the correct cable for their radio, scanner, etc.  We stock over 100 different programming cables proven to work with more than 5,000 radios, scanners, and other devices.  All cables come with a 3-year replacement warranty.  We utilize more than 200 radios to test our cables to ensure they work!  If you can't find a cable for your model on eBay, contact us or do an internet search.  Contact us if you want custom-length cables.

The second problem is finding out what programming software they will need for their model and if it will work on the computer’s operating system version that they have.    It is the programming software that limits the operating systems that you will need, not the cableMore than half of the software in our library are not compatible with Windows 10 or 11.  Our BlueMax46ers Software Advisor recommends operating systems compatibility for all our software titles.

The third problem is finding the latest programming software to download.   We have 1,000 different programming software titles, wide-band and narrow-band, if available, in our downloads library.  In most cases, we can share download links to the software for a customer who purchases our cable.  We do not sell software.  After you purchase a cable on eBay, you must send us an email or message requesting the download link.

The fourth problem is getting technical support when you have a problem.  All our cables come with installation instructions, email address, and cell phone number.  We stand behind everything we sell and promise to do our best to troubleshoot any problem you encounter.

Please check this listing's photos for a close-up of the connector to ensure that this cable matches the physical characteristics of your radio's port before ordering this cable.  Most radios use the microphone jack as the programming port, but some have a separate data port for programming and PC to internal TNC interface. It is important to know that programming cables use fewer signal pins than a microphone, so the pinouts are typically simpler than your microphone cable.

Q. Where can I find the device drivers for my FTDI or Prolific cable?

A. Typically, the operating system will install the drivers when the cable is plugged into the computer. It can take 4 to 6 minutes to find and install the driver automatically. The cable comes with installation instructions on how to download and install any drivers that are needed.

Q.  How can I tell if the USB serial cable I buy uses the Prolific or FTDI USB to serial chipset?

A.  If it doesn't say FTDI in the listing title, it will use the Prolific chipset.  True USB cables do not use USB to serial chipsets.

Q.  What is the difference between FTDI and Prolific USB serial cables other than the FTDI are more expensive?

A.  Our FTDI cables have LED activity lights and are 6 feet in length.  Our Prolific cables do not have activity lights and are 3 feet long.

Q. Do your cables work with RTSystems software?

A. No, RTSystems software only works with their cables.
