EMERGENCY THERMAL BLANKET PERSONALLY OWNED AND ORDERED BY JOHN WAYNE 17 DAYS BEFORE HIS DEATH


The emergency thermal blanket is accompanied with the original invoice ordered by and sent to Wayne on May 25, 1979 to his home address in Newport Beach, while he was being treated for cancer at the UCLA Medical Center.  In addition, it is silver lined, created by Thermos, measures 4” by 2”, unopened in its original 5” by 3” plastic bag, and in fine condition.


FOR WAYNE’S MEDICAL USE AFTER HIS STOMACH CANCER RETURNED


In January 1979, John Wayne’s cancerous stomach had been removed.  On May 1, 1979, Wayne complained of abdominal pain and was admitted to the UCLA Medical Center.  The following day, he underwent surgery and new cancer cells were found in tissue removed.  The emergency thermal blanket was ordered for Wayne’s medical use after his stomach cancer returned.  On June 11, 1972, 17 days after ordering the blanket, Wayne died of cancer.
