The Vanguard V4479A1 Kala flipper by Kizer Cutlery is a collaborative project between Kizer and custom knifemaker Scot Matsuoka of Koala Duck Knives. It is a production version of Scot's custom Kala flipper. It's great to see a Vanguard version with a more affordable price tag. It's slender yet large enough for hard-use tactical and EDC tasks. It features a 3.74" stonewash finish VG10 drop point blade with an ever-so-slight recurve to the edge. The pivot bearing system allows for smooth blade opening, as with all Kizer knives, and the action is quick, snappy and ultra-authoritative. The black G10 handle has a solid, stout feeling and is extremely ergonomic making this a great EDC choice. It features a stainless steel spring pocket clip, stainless steel liners and is sure to become an everyday carry favorite in no time since it's priced well below its design and quality levels.
