Origin	East Bolivia to Argentina
Description	This is an evergreen tree that grows mostly erect to 30-50 meters in height and widens with age.The flowers have a broad banner that is folded back to hide the other petal parts and is sickle-shaped in profile.
Pedoclimatic needs	Erythrina prefers sunny positions, but it also adapts well with half a day of sun; it can be planted in the ground as long as it is a sunny corner in winter and for the first few years it will be better to cover (the needs are the same as for bougainvillea) both the aerial part with non-woven fabric and the base with straw , peat or dry leaves. The soil does not need particular requirements, but it will be better if it is fertilized or manured (the manure must be well mature). Drainage must be accurate both in open ground and for pot cultivation; in winter the plants in pots or in the ground must remain rather dry. At the vegetative restart the plants must be abundantly fertilized until flowering, then it can be suspended.
Sowing	In spring, the seed will need to be kept in warm water for two days before sowing it.
