Offered - Antique postcard collection with 220+ postcards once belonging to John William Ditter a US Congressman from Montgomery County, PA. Most of the cards are addressed to members of the Ditter family or to John Himself. About half of the cards are addressed to Ditter's daughter and written by John while he served in Congress during the 1930's. Many of the notes briefly describe the duties of the day the note was jotted. Ditter was a republican and opponent of FDR, he was killed in a plane crash in 1943. The vast majority of the cards are postmarked while about 1/6th remain unused. Most of the cards feature scenes from Washington, D.C. with a handful of other locations included. Also included is a newspaper I happened to come across separately with an article written by Ditter as well as an image of the Congressman. An interesting and intimate piece of Pennsylvania political history.
