It was part of a piece of furniture with three other hunting animals and dates back to the 1870s.
This is an impressive antique oak wood sculpture, massive, depicting a hunt theme: a stag. 
Please take a close look at the photos and see how it is finely hand carved, they are an integral part of the description. 
This large sculpture is in nice antique condition with some signs of ages like that: a wooden lack on the ears  
Holes of worms since long gone.
