Product Description

Roller fly screens are a superb quality solution for those who would like to have permenant but discreet protection against flying insects. The fly screen mesh is housed in a slim-line spring loaded cassette, which is positioned at the top of a window and at one side for a door. When the window or door is open, simply deploy the screen using handles on the sliding bar. When windows and doors aren't open, or at times of year when insects aren't a problem, the screen is retracted and hides away in the cassette. All of our screens are fitted as standard with a brake system, which slows the recoil of the screen into the cassette - preventing noise, damage or trapped fingers.

Screen types: Roller fly screens are available for the following applications - we have made to measure and DIY solutions:

  • Windows and skylights

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
  1. Your Roller fly screens size width x drop (always width first followed by drop please)

    • Blind size: The finished size of the screen from outer edge to outer edge. We'll not make any deductions to this size.
    • Recess size: The size of the recess that you are fitting the screen into, in which case we'll make standard deductions so that your screen will fit perfectly into this recess.
  2. The side guides of your roller fly screens can be installed using two methods. If you aren't sure which to use, you can select "Prepare for Both" and we will prepare your screen so that the side guide rails can be installed using either method. See below for a more detailed explanation of the fixing methods.

Side Fix (using Screws): The side guides are fixed using screws into the side of the window recess, through pre-drilled holes in "the bottom of the U" of the side channels.
  3. Face Fix (using Screws): The side guides are face-fixed using screws. This option should be selected if you are face fixing around a recess, or face fixing to the window frame. If you select this option, we will drill a 10mm hole in the front face of the side guide rails and a smaller screw hole in the back face of the side guide rails. The larger hole will allow you to screw through the back face into your fixing surface. We will also provide a "cover cap" to close off into the 10mm hole. We would always suggest face fixing the side channels, if possible as it is a much simpler and "forgiving" method of install.

  4. Please ensure you have provided an up to date contact number (mobile preferably) in case we need to contact you regarding your order. This is also required when we book the courier so they can contact you if there are any issues when trying to deliver your item.

Please be aware that we cannot process your order until we have all the necessary information. If we require clarification we will contact you; please respond at your earliest convenience to avoid delays to your order.

Please ensure that you measure correctly as the made to measure blinds are non-returnable.

Roller Insect Screens - Measuring Guide You will need to decide whether it is best to measure "Exact Blind Size" or "Recess Size"

Recess

You should follow these instructions if: You are installing your screens inside of a recess. You would like us to make the manufacturers recommended deductions so that the screen fits within this recess perfectly. Measure the width of the recess from wall to wall in 3 places, particularly at the top. Note down the shortest measurement. Measure the drop from the top of the recess to the window sill in 3 places. Note down the shortest measurement We will make the necessary deductions so that your screen will fit perfectly into the recess. Installation Note: Even if you are installing your screen within a recess, where possible we would always recommend face fixing your side channels against the window frame.

Exact

You should follow these instructions if you: Are installing your screen outside of the recess. Are fitting your screen within a recess but want to make your own deductions. Measure the screen width of where you'd like your screen to be. Measure the screen drop: From the top of where you want your screen to be to the bottom. If fixing outside of the recess, you will need to consider that: side channels are 30mm width each, so 60mm in total. Cassette is 51mm from top to bottom. U-shaped Magnetic Profile (optional) is 14mm from top to bottom So, as a minimum, you will need to add these sizes onto the size of your recess. We will not make any further deductions and will make the blind exactly to your measurements.
