For Sale is a Vintage Detecto Scales- Hanging Milk Scale w/ Produce Scoop 30.... 60lb?? In Very Nice Working Condition.
This Beautiful Old Detecto Scale is in very nice Condition, especially given it's age. It has been tested and is in working order. The 30....60lb?? in the title refers to the fact that the Scale seems to have been made to hold up to 30lbs, BUT, the company appears to have crossed out the 30lb designation and instead labled it as having a 60lb capacity? I say that because if you notice in the closeup picture you can see where the 30 has been crossed out and replaced with 60.... in factory print and ink. I have no idea why this was done. Also, in most of the pictures you can see the Red Needle that points to the weight in the scoop ie. needle points to 5....... scale is holding 5lbs, there is also a Black Needle directly under it that the Red Needle Hides, I assume for Tare?
The Scale as a Whole has many scratch's / scuffs / small dings and dents / and even a few holes (2 intentionally placed) in the scoop. The scale / scoop could be cleaned if you wanted a newer cleaner look, however I think just being lightly wiped down with a damp cloth shows off it's character. The Chains and some of the unpainted steel show some signs of light corrosion.
Finally, there is tiny number on the bottom front of the face that may be a model number. It reads "No. 26S30"
Overall the scale shows some wear and some age but is an awesome piece.

Combined and Hung the Piece is approximately 32" from Top to Bottom
