KUDZU ROOT POWDER

KUDZU (Latin: Pueraria lobata) is a plant whose action and medicinal properties have been appreciated for years in the Far East. In China or Japan, it has found use in the form of water infusions of powdered root and dry alcohol extracts, in the treatment of diabetes, flu, fever, nausea, migraines, allergies, and upper respiratory tract diseases. Kudzu root can also lower elevated blood pressure and alleviate gastrointestinal complaints. It has recently been discovered that kudzu root can also help in the fight against alcohol addiction.

KUDZU theory of action. Alcohol (and other stimulants) stimulate the secretion of dopamine and serotonin, or "happiness hormones," in the brain. Compounds contained in kudzu - isoflavonoids (and especially one of them - genistein) act similarly. After taking the extract from the kudzu root, isoflavonoids cause feelings similar to those that appear after drinking alcohol. Therefore, you do not feel the need to reach for a real drug. Such a mechanism also indicates the possibility of using kudzu root extracts to combat addiction not only to alcohol, but also to drugs and nicotine. It can also alleviate hangover symptoms.
