A Porsche Replacement Engine Cooling Thermostat with its Housing & with a New Gasket
This thermostat opens at a lower temperature of 71°C compared to the standard opening temperatures that is 83°C.
Thanks to its lower and reduced operating temperature it allows the water jacket around the engine to run cooler which then allows the cylinders to run cooler and this is believed to help reduce the risk of Engine Damage.
Due to the cooler running of the engine, it is believed the possibility of Bores to be scored is reduced and also thanks to its cooler running temperatures is believed to reduce the likelihood of Liners being cracked both of which are unfortunately known faults with a few models of 911 & Boxster.
This is a common modification within the Porsche game whether it is amongst the Enthusiasts and loving owners or whether it is amongst the Track & Race Variants.
