Beautiful, vintage, handwoven cotton and dyed African indigo fabric, made by the Dogon in Mali. Textiles are dyed with the resist, stitch, tie dyeing techniques and each piece is unique. All the ones I will be listing are hard to find, older indigo pieces in very good conditon, with the old dyed patterns, and all were used and soft from wear and washing.

This piece has11 heavier, hand woven cotton panels hand-stitched together; approximately 40" x 55”, with primarily light and dark blue stripes on one side, and four mottled white stitch dye stripes on the reverse. It is in excellent condition: no major damamge that I can see; ends are hemmed.

I was lucky to have “first choice” from large groups of indigos as they arrived directly from Africa, and have many that I will be selling, including striped indigos as well as patterned ones. I picked ones that were in the best condition, and/or the most unique, but there are almost always a few flaws, which I will note in my listings and photographs.
