This is a Japanese flower vase display stand called kadai (also called hirajoku). It's made of popular Chinese wood called karaki, and it has a beautiful design with silver inlay on the side surfaces. It was made about 80 years ago. It's the stand to display incense burners, flower vases, etc. as a decoration of a traditional Japanese room.
