ORIGINAL ARTHUR GRIFFIN (1903-2001) 'T WHARF BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS' DOUBLE SIGNED COLOR PHOTOGRAPH

This is really a wonderful original.  I learned of Arthur Griffin long ago because of a poster print that hung in a family members house for many years.  For those not familiar with the photographer, I have included his biography below.  This is really a special photograph.  Actually, I have not been able to find any other original photographs by Griffin available on the market or having sold.  And definitely one of this caliber and quality and size.  This is a wonderful large color photograph of the wharf and boats lining the dock in downtown Boston.  A large photograph measuring 19 1/2 x 23 1/2 inches.  Outstanding as printed condition.  Wonderful vibrant colors.  Signed with gold marker on the image lower right corner.  Photograph is on its original mount with the artist's signature and photo title in pencil just below the image.  Original archival double matte and complimentary and really makes the photo pop.  Original wood frame shows nicks but nothing too bad.  Really just an excellent presentation of this scarce fine photograph.  Frame measures 27 x 31 inches.  Do your own research on this incredible photograph.  Dont miss this chance.

For those not familiar with the artist his biography from Digital Commonwealth and the Griffin Museum reads: "
Arthur Griffin was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on September 12, 1903. Originally trained to be an illustrator, in 1929 he picked up his first camera -- a second-hand folding Brownie -- and thus began a passion that would last a lifetime.
By the mid-1930's, Arthur Griffin had become the exclusive photographer for the newly created Boston Globe Rotogravure Magazine and the New England photojournalist for Life and Time magazines. He went on to become a pioneer in the use of color film and provided the first color photographs to appear in the Saturday Evening Post -- a two-page layout on New England.
