M7 constantly searches for innovative technology and ideas that can be engineered to work for the MINI. Our latest brainchild, packages the ultimate heat-resistant material called aerogel into a heat shield designed to reduce heat soak from the exhaust manifold. Aerogel is nano-techology used by NASA for a variety of applications. Now M7 has taken the heat shield concept to a new level with the M7 Aerogel EX.
The Goal: Cut down on the ever-destructive heat soak in the engine compartment, without adding complex, hard to install parts that will eventually break down or fail in some way.
The Solution: The M7 Aerogel EX Heat Shield that fits on top of the existing aluminium heat shield above the exhaust manifold/header. It's so easy to install you can truly do-it-yourself.
The Testing: We decided to bite the bullet and invested in some serious data logging equipment and a Thermal Imaging Camera that would give us both hard numbers and visual feedback to the thermal heat load under the hood. The testing showed some amazing results. The data logging revealed an amazing 65.8ï¿_ Delta in regular driving (both runs were identical) with some very small deviations in speed and the number of stop lights that turned red. The run was executed with mixed driving on the freeway at high rpm to generate as much heat as possible and stop and go traffic on surface streets.
Something else to remember is that the test was done with an M7 DFIC intercooler that will flush more cool air in to the engine compartment than a typical stock (or stock-style aftermarket unit) making the numbers even more impressive.
The Result: The coolant reservoir and the steering pump reservoir stays much cooler, along with the peripheral areas in the engine bay (including intercooler). Bottom line, the entire engine compartment remains much cooler during a driving cycle.
The top layer is made from bright reflective silver fabric with 3" M7 logo stitched in to show your admirers you only buy the best for your Mini.

Packaging
As with many companies, Orranje Performance receives a lot of packaging protecting the items that we purchase from suppliers. We hate waste, so we have taken the decision to reuse as much packaging as we can to reduce the amount that we throw away. This means that, where possible, we may reuse packaging to ship items to you, which could mean that the bubble wrap, foam packaging or outer box isn't brand new. Please don't worry though; we will only reuse packaging if we are confident that it will offer the protection your item requires.

Instructions

Delivery
We strongly advise that fitting appointments are not booked until the items have been delivered to you.

The delivery contract is between Orranje Performance Ltd and the courier, however Orranje Performance Ltd may require the customer's assistance to provide evidence or other information to the courier.
In the event of an item being lost during delivery by the courier, Orranje Performance Ltd are unable to send out a replacement until the courier confirms that they cannot locate the item or the item is returned back to us. In this instance we would advise the customer re-orders if they require the item sooner, and Orranje Performance Ltd will arrange a full refund once the original item is returned or confirmed lost.
If ordering from abroad, please ensure items are legal / can be imported into your country. Refunds will not be provided if items are confiscated and disposed of by customs.
We make use of eBay GSP for international eBay orders, meaning cheaper shipping costs for customers, but with a slightly longer delivery time. You may receive a delivery notification to say the item has been delivered to a UK address. This is the item being delivered to eBay GSP in the UK, who will then forward the items on to you. Further tracking details will be provided for the shipment from eBay GSP to you, and will be available against the eBay order.
Polyurethane Bushings Vs Standard Bushes

Polyurethane bushings can improve a car’s handling, but can also stiffen the road, increasing noise and vibration to the cabin. If this is a concern, please do not upgrade to polyurethane bushes, or seek advice from ourselves or other owners before upgrading.
