On 27th May 2019 at about 10 AM "Hazel" will set out from Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire. She will be towed by 92 year old motor boat "Forget me Not". Travelling through stunning Pennine scenery she will pass through the fascinating gritstone town of Todmorden to finish her day's journey at the village of Walsden.  This is your chance to take part in this epic trip through fantastic scenery. The boats belong to the Wooden Canal Boat Society, a registered charity, and will be captained by Chris Leah, a qualified trainer, assisted by another WCBS volunteer.

Arrival at Walsden is estimated at about 6 PM, though timing is always a bit approximate on canal journeys. Please note that every effort will be made to stick to the planned itinerary but there are sometimes circumstances beyond the charity's control such as water shortages.

The captain and his mate will ensure a safe and pleasant passage of this spectacular waterway and, for those who wish to be hands on, will be happy to show their guests how to steer "Hazel" and work the locks safely.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy working a pair of historic wooden boats along the amazing transpennine
Rochdale Canal.

Travel from Walsden back to  Hebden Bridge  is easy, it's just 2 stops on the train.

NB, we offer half price for children under 16. To get this you'll have to pay full price but we'll send a refund. We will require anyone under 18 to wear a lifejacket.
