Antique rococo carved and giltwood gesso on solid carved timber frame with oval bevelled edge mirror . The superb quality carving with four shell ornaments joined with acanthus scrolls and egg and dart inner frame. Real gold leaf used in the expensive and time consuming practice of water gilding was used to finish this superb mirror. Minor repairs to wooden frame, and with original bevel edged 19th century mirror plate, measuring glass only 47cm x 32 cm.
