This is a set of over 25 sentence starters or identity cards which are essential to go with any other pack when your child/young person/adult is starting to build sentences rather than just using individual pictures. Some of the cards have spaces for you to write personal information on if required either in permanent ink or with a dry wipe marker so that you can change them.

They are suitable for all communication systems and books/folders. For example ABA, Pecs, story lines, story boards, sentence strip, schedules, communication books, and many other communication methods.

The key ring option makes transportation and communication between places very easy and also allows you to add them to any pictures you already have on a key ring.

The pictures are easily understood by the child/young person/adult and they will learn to use them quickly.

The pictures are laminated, so they can be wiped clean and have Velcro on the back to attach to strips, boards and timetables. The key ring option and flash cards do not have Velcro on. All our items come packed in a re-usable folder for safe storage when not being used.

This is a fantastic teaching aid and ideal for developing the individual. The pack is perfect in any setting, including schools, nurseries, childminders and personal home use and will help all children/young adults/adults who have autism/special needs/learning difficulties. It is also ideal as an Early Learning Aid.

If using a visual communication system for the first time there are things you may need to consider such as the age and dexterity of your child/adult. So we offer this pack in four sizes. Our other packs are also offered in these sizes so that they compliment each other.

The 6cm pictures are especially good for young children and those with visual difficulties. The very popular 4.5cm pictures are great for children/adults who are learning how to use a visual communication and while they develop their fine motor skills. They are easier to use than the 3 cm pictures which are for the more practised children/adults. The Flash cards which are 7cm by 10cm are a very good option for general use.

You may also wish to think about how portable your system might need to be and how many cards your child/adult will possibly have to carry around, as this may determine the size of the pictures you want. Many people use a larger size at home or school/activity and use a smaller more portable set when travelling between places. Eventually the smaller size may be used more permanently. Consider eventually buying two sets so you can have one at home and one at another place which is attended regularly and where they will want to communicate. Consistency is very important.
