Thinsulate is a high-performance filling material that has been researched and developed by 3M company.
The name has been derived by combining the words Thin and Insulate, and is based on the concept of “Warmer and Thinner”.
The high-performance thinsulate filling material is a non-woven fabric consisting of microfibers of 2 μm diameter and polyester for retaining the strength.
It is a complex structure containing ultra-fine fibers that are almost as thin as the thinnest tip of down feathers, and the surface area is 20 times that of conventional polyester cotton. This structure encloses plenty of dead air achieving excellent thermal insulation.

For the filling, two kinds of high-performance cotton with distinctive features, namely "Filharmony" and "Comforloft" are used.
Filharmony is processed for anti-mite, anti-microbial, and deodorant functionality of MIGHTYTOP II, with additional sweat absorbency, quick drying and non-lint (processed for anti-cotton lint) functionality.
Large air holes in the fiber of Comforloft suck in plenty of air, keeps it soft and warm. Using Comforloft as the filling gives excellent washing durability and the comforter can be washed completely.
