The Stoke-Mandeville Competition medal - Invalids Olympics - was coined in Israel, marking the State's 20th Anniversary. A 59 mm tombac medal was awarded to the participants. The 59 mm medals and 45 mm silver or gold plated medals were awarded to the winners of the competitions.

In the centre of the medal's obverse, within an incuse panel, appear the English initials ISMG (International Stoke-Mandeville Games), the number 20 and the word Israel in Hebrew. The incuse panel is surrounded by global longitude and latitude lines. The Hebrew inscription around the rim reads "Invalids Olympics" and in English "XVII International Stoke-Mandeville Games".

The reverse depicts three wheels interlocked in relief - the emblem of the Games. On each wheel a motto in English: Unity, Sportsmanship, Friendship. Below: "Israel" in Hebrew and English, and the date "1968".
