Alexander Wang was born and raised in San Francisco, CA to Chinese immigrant parents. In 2005, at the age of 21, and after just two years at Parsons School of Design in New York City, Alex launched his eponymous label. Beginning with knitwear, the brand expanded into a full women's ready-to-wear line in fall 2007 with men's ready-to-wear launching four years later. He has gone on to industry acclaim and global recognition for his unique design sensibility including serving as Creative Director of Balenciaga from December 2012 to 2015. In its essence, his brand is a reflection of contrasts, blending the refined and the imperfect and evolving the urban uniform.
