Tom Perkinson (1940 - ): An American born artist who is infatuated with landscapes from his time growing up in the country. It was apparent from a early age that Perkinson had a talent for art. By the time he was in high school he was studying at the John Herron Institute of Art before going on to the Chicago Academy of Art. While in college, he was invited yearly to stage an exhibition of his work. After graduation he moved to New Mexico where he became interested in Western landscapes with underlying surrealism. Today these works are included in collections such as the Musuem of New Mexico, Santa Fe, the University Art Museum, Albuquerque and Eiteljorg Museum of Western Art, where they are enjoyed by critics and collectors alike.
