The Saint Seraphim was born in Kursk in Russia on July 19, 1759 AD and named Prochoros. His parents, Isidore and Agathe Mosnin were wealthy merchants. His father had brick factories and also undertook the construction of stone buildings, temples and houses. Once he started building in Kursk a temple in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh the Wonderworker, but suddenly in 1762 AD, dies, leaving his wife to care for the completion of the temple. Prohoros- inherited the virtues of their parents and especially their piety.
