An original poster or Cinderella stamp depicting an electrical product designed by Peter Behrens for AEG, ca. 1910
Size approx. 40 mm x 61 mm
Peter Behrens's appointment as artistic director of AEG in 1907 was a turning point in design history. It was the first time a major international company had employed a single designer to advise on all aspects of its corporate identity, product design and even its architectural accommodation.
Besides creating new premises for the company - including the Turbine Factory, itself a landmark of modernism - he devised a new range of ground-breaking and consciously forward-looking domestic and industrial electrical products, including lighting, clocks, table fans and tea kettles.
