A most elegant Russian plum pudding mahogany cylinder desk, circa 1810. Raised on four tapered legs, the lower case holds seven drawers and two sliding shelves with leather tops that extend from the sides. When you lift the cylinder top you reveal six additional drawers, two secret compartments behind the Corinthian columns and three more compartments behind the arches. The ormolu hardware is all original. Also note the cloverleaf locks.
