This lovely set of tropical coffee cups was produced in 1992 by the Japanese cosmetic maker Shiseido as a gift for special customers. They are excellent quality bone china and no expense was spared in their production. The set is intact and unused in its original box. Although it is 27 years old, it has been carefully stored and is in flawlessly perfect condition. These were made in very small quantities and they have become very rare. Designed by London-based designer Althea Wilson.
They are rimmed in gold and decorated with tropical birds and plant fronds. The cups measures 6.5cm (2⅓”) tall and the saucers are about 13.5 cm (5⅓”) across. They are highly detailed and beautifully made and come in their original box.
