The screw for the Gen 3 and Gen 4 drivers is longer than the screw for the Gen 1 and Gen 2 drivers. The Gen 3 and Gen 4 drivers also have a much thicker rubber retaining washer (that keeps the screw in the head) than the washer on Gen 1 and Gen 2. The driver adapter itself is the same across all drivers - the thicker retaining washer makes up for the extra length of the screw.
