"Art is an adventure for the artist and
viewer alike. Creating paintings as visual ideas is a way of
communicating how I see (or feel) the universe. I create art works for
myself, making things I find interesting. It is my hope that viewers
will enjoy the work visually and discover its mysteries. John Mominee is
a Wisconsin artist known for his handsome, large-format monotypes.
Collectors respond to the art, prints and posters of extraordinary
color, sensuous texture and relationship of light to dark.
Paint
brushed onto a Plexiglas plate that is printed using an etching press
creates the monotype. Each "transfer painting" is unique and original.
John's dynamic monotype compositions are the sources for the giclee art
prints and posters.
John Mominee was born in Evansville, Indiana and earned his BA from the
University of Evansville as well as his MFA from Southern Illinois
University. He served as the long time Director of the Center for the
Arts at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. Mominee has been a
full-time painter/printmaker since 1994 and his collections hang in
American museums, law firms, hotels, and architecture firms, to name a
few. Wimmer Communities commissioned Mominee for a site-specific large
colorful monotype, of the type for which he is well known.

Returns are accepted only if item does not match description. I will not accept returns if buyer changed his mind or realized that he does not need the item. Customer has to file a claim to post office if item was insured and was broken during shipping.
International Buyers: I will be happy to ship item to any country of the world. You have two shipping options: if item is less than 4 lbs in weigh: First Class International or Priority Mail. First class is less expensive but it does not come with tracking number. I will not be responsible if item will be lost in shipping if you will choose First Class option. To my European or non-domestic bidders: All VAT, customs, or similar charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
