Founded as a shipping company in 1872 that is still active today, Chargeurs Reunis expanded into ocean cruises around the 1920s into the 1950s, using their established routes to South America, the West coast of Africa, and Indochina for passenger travel. The artist behind this stately poster, Georges "Sandy Hook" Taboureau, was especially known for his nautical illustrations, and was even named the official painter for the French Admiralty in 1917. 

Never folded prior to restoration, this poster has received light touchup to mild creases, moderate tears, soft surface scuffs, and a small chip in the top left corner. Very Fine- on Linen.
