This is a set of over 150 pictures related to producing a timetable, schedule or instructions for the day or a week at school or nursery. They cover most events and common activities. The pictures are suitable for all communication systems, timetables, schedules, communication books, folders and sentence strips, along with any other visual communication methods.

This is an excellent pack to start with when using a visual communication system or as an accompaniment to other pack. The pictures are easily understood by the child, young person or adult and they will learn to use them quickly.

The pictures are laminated, so they can be wiped clean and have Velcro on the back to attach to strips, boards and timetables. The flash card option does not have Velcro on. All our items come packed in a re-usable folder for safe storage when not being used.

If using a visual communication system for the first time there are things you may need to consider such as the age and dexterity of your child, young person or adult. So we offer this pack in four sizes.

The 6cm pictures are especially good for young children and those with visual difficulties. The very popular 4.5cm pictures are great for people who are learning how to use a visual communication system and while they develop their fine motor skills. They are easier to use than the 3 cm pictures which are for the more practised child, young people or adult.

You may also wish to think about how portable your system might need to be and how many cards your child, young person or adult will possibly have to carry around, as this may determine the size of the pictures you want. Many people use a larger size at home or school, activity, care centre and use a smaller more portable set when travelling between places. Eventually the smaller size may be used more permanently. Consider eventually buying two sets so you can have one at home and one at another place which is attended regularly and where they will want to communicate. Consistency is very important.
