You are purchasing a 3D printed compatible hood for the 50-135 Zeiss Contarex lenses.

The original Contarex Zeiss hood, lens and Bullseye body ARE NOT included. They are there only for reference.

Review from recent buyer: Wow! This is a terrific product! You should make one for the 35mm (I DID! Click the Link Below)

Contarex 21-35mm Lens Shade and Cap

I designed this hood to be used in place of my genuine Zeiss 50-135 hood. As you can see in the photos the hood I designed is a perfect replacement of the very expensive Zeiss hood. I went through 20 different model designs (done in SolidWorks) to get a nice fit on the B56 bayonet and as smooth as possible finish (while keeping the print time down).

I designed the lens cap because my original was getting worn down and loose from the constant on-off action which wore down the plastic. This new one will fit tighter on some lenses and may not rotate so that the wording is horizontal, but it will be secure!

FYI, the trademark for the "Zeiss IKON" logo is dead at the US patent and Trademark office.

Nobody wants to have their expensive Zeiss hood dented! Another reason is that an original lens hood, with minimum dents, will cost you approximately $150.00!

3D printing is not as smooth as a machined hood, but it shades the lens exactly the same.

3D printing could have a few anomalies like bumps or small gaps. It is possible to make it very smooth but that would take hours of filling gaps, sanding and painting. You can do that if you want to, but it will not change the effectiveness of the hood, it is purely cosmetic.

Each hood takes almost two hours to print!
