Very Rare!! Vintage Mid Century Modern Unique Man & Woman Dancers Framed Contour Glass Carving with Mother-of-Pearl. The frame has a few spots that someone touched up at some point in time. Window size of frame is 21.5" square. Outer frame size is 28" square. Image is behind clear glass. The piece weighs about 13 pounds before packing. The frame is dark painted wood with fine spatters of color. There is a gold foil label on the back of one that reads: "A New Concept of Art in Glass AN ORIGINAL CONTOUR GLASS CARVING INLAID WITH A BLEND OF GENUINE MOTHER-OF-PEARL". When the light hits the surface just right, the dancers look like they are made from crushed opals.

I also have another auction listing that has a framed pair of female dancers done in this same medium. So, if you like this one, make sure to take a look at my other auction listings to see that Pair of women dancers. They are long vertical rectangles in shape.

In all my travels and looking, I have never seen anything like these! I could not find anything like them on the internet after a very long search. I'm sure they are very rare and these more than likely will be the only examples that you'll ever see. Unfortunately, there were no artist's or company names on the gold foil labels.

I personally think that they would look much better with new simple and lighter color contemporary frames on them, but these are period frames that you may want on them. I could remove them from the frames to make shipping less expensive if the winner wishes it. I am a professional artist, so I know how to safely remove the artwork from the frames. I would of course include the foil labels and any other information written on the back of the works.
