Turquoise Sunburst Silver Cuff Bracelet

This is a silver plated bracelet, hand made in Taxco, Mexico. It is detailed with block Turquoise. The bracelet is 8 inches in diameter including the 1-¾ inch opening. It can be adjusted carefully to make it larger or smaller. The centerpiece is about 1-⅝ inches in diameter.

About Block Stone…
Block is 97% (or more) natural stone stabilized with 3% resin.

About Silver Plating…
Silver plating is 100% silver electrically and permanently bonded to a base metal (in this case German Silver, known in Mexico as Alpaca).
In contrast, sterling silver is 92.5% silver. The remaing 7.5% can be anything.

About Alpaca…
In 1823, a competition was launched in Prussia to invent a metal alloy which, when polished, would have the same appearance as silver. The result is the metal now known in Mexico as Alpaca. Also known as German Silver, Alpaca is frequently used to make silver jewelry in Mexico. Around the world it has many uses including musical instruments, cutlery, silverware, zippers and more.
