Appearance and wear
The bronze, silver-plated or gilded medal with a diameter of 30 mm shows on its center shows an impeller, the symbol of the German Reichsbahn in the GDR. This is surrounded by a 4.5 mm wide wide laurel wreath, which is open at the top and the ends of which touch the top of the medal. The Lorbeerkranz itself is slightly touched and covered by the wings of the impeller on the right and left. The boundary of the crown to the central portion is reached by a continuous narrow ring. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows in the first form of this medal, awarded until 1972, the three-line inscription: FOR / TRUST / SERVICES. From the form given since 1973, instead, the small state coat of arms of the GDR and the underlying two-line inscription stood for the above: FOR TRUST / SERVICES. The medal of the first form was carried on a 25 mm x 14.5 mm blue clasp with metal edge, from 1963 28.5 mm x 15.4 mm and from 1970 then 24 x 12 mm, but with the latter with light blue Band in the highest stage on the upper left side of the breasts. The interim coils are of a similar nature, and additionally show a 17 mm miniature placed in their center according to the given stage. In addition, interludes of enamel were also known, but they were only circulating for a short time. The bronze honorary bronze shows in the center a standing impeller in front of two short laurel branches which point outwards to the left and right of the impeller. Their dimensions are 52 x 16 mm and were usually applied over the golden medal.
