The original painting is named Young Girl Reading, or The Reader (French: La Liseuse), is an 18th-century oil painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. It was purchased by the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC in 1961 using funds donated by Ailsa Mellon Bruce, the daughter of Andrew W. Mellon, following her father’s death.

It took over a month of hard work to hand-stitch this beautiful artwork. Completed cross stitch wall art. It is done by a diagram-scheme with counted stitch, which is the hardest type of stitch to do, and it takes a lot more time to do it, compared to the ones done on colored canvas

Fine New Zealand wool is used to stitch the needlepoint and the canvas is 100% cotton.
