Casper, WYOMING - Hotel Henning - ARCHITECTURE: One of Casper's first of the grand hotels was the Hotel Henning. Its north portion opened in 1914 as the Midwest Hotel with a planned extension to be called the Midwest Annex. Unfortunately, a levy on the furniture in the hotel was executed, ultimately resulting in the establishment of a new corporation that acquired the hotel and renamed it after one of its promoters, a plumbing contractor Welker F. "Happy" Henning. Among other interests, Henning owned the weekly newspaper, The Casper Independent. This White Border Era (1915-30) postcard shows the hotel with period cars. The card is in good condition.
