I'm currently listing a large number of playbills representing some of the most memorable Broadway performances of the 1950's and 1960's ......... This is a rare March 17th, 1952 playbill from the Original Broadway production of the JOHNNY MERCER and HY KRAFT musical comedy "TOP BANANA" which played the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. (The production opened November 1st, 1951 and ran for 350 performances.) ..... The musical starred PHIL SILVERS (shown in the cover photo) and featured ROSE MARIE, JACK ALBERTSON, DANNY SCHOLL, JUDY LYNN, BILL CALLAHAN, JOEY FAYE, BRADFORD HATTON, HERBIE FAYE, EDDIE HANLEY, WALTER DARE WAHL, ZACHARY A. CHARLES, HAL LOMAN, JOAN FIELDS and JOHNNY TRAMA ..... DETAILS: The 34 page playbill measures 6 1/2" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos. Includes a full page ad for the Original Broadway Cast recording of "TOP BANANA" on Capitol Records (third scanned image) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of minor soiling to the cover and light edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
