Vlchek Tool Company (pronounced "Vel-check") was founded by a Czech immigrant, Frank Vlchek in 1894 in Cleveland, Ohio. It started out as a small blacksmith shop making and sharpening tools for stonecutters and masons, and later began manufacturing tools and grew to become the largest maker of automobile tool kits. The company built a reputation for high-quality tools as well as efficient production.
