This is a rare September 9th, 1959 "Playgoer" playbill from the four-night, Pre-Broadway engagement of the LORENZO SEMPLE, Jr. comedy "GOLDEN FLEECING" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open October 15th, 1959 at Henry Miller's Theatre in New York City and run for 84 performances.) ..... The play starred TOM POSTON and SUSAN CABOT (replaced out-of-town by SUZANNE PLESHETTE) and featured ROBERT ELSTON, CONSTANCE FORD, RICHARD KENDRICK, ROBERT CARRAWAY, JOHN MYHERS, MICKEY DEEMS, RALPH STANTLEY, BUCK KARTALIAN, ALFRED HESSE, RED GRANGER and JOHN THOMAS ..... CREDITS: Book by LORENZO SEMPLE, Jr.; Incidental Music by DANA SUESSE; Sets and Costumes designed by FREDERICK FOX; Directed by ABE BURROWS; Produced by COURTNEY BURR and GILBERT MILLER ..... DETAILS: The 28 page playbill measures 6" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and bios of each of the leading actors, but no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a tiny nick at the bottom of the cover and minor creasing, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
