This is a rare ticket envelope and ticket stub from the March 15th, 1952 evening performance of the Original Broadway production of the JOHN VAN DRUTEN play "I AM A CAMERA" starring JULIE HARRIS at the Empire Theatre in New York City. (The production opened November 28th, 1951 and ran for 214 performances.) ..... The play, which eventually became the basis of the award winning JOHN KANDER and FRED EBB musical "CABARET", starred JULIE HARRIS as "Sally Bowles" (winner of the first of her five Tony Awards for "Best Actress in a Play") and featured WILLIAM PRINCE, MARTIN BROOKS, CATHERINE WILLARD, OLGA FABIAN, EDWARD ANDREWS and MARIAN WINTERS ..... The March 15th, 1952 ticket stub measures approx. 1 1/2" X 1 3/8" inches ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a vertical crease and handwritten notes on the envelope, this rare set is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
