NATIONAL AERONAUTIC PROGRAM SIGNED BY BOTH ORVILLE WRIGHT AND VILHJALMUR STEFANSSON

The program was for the Banquet of the Third National Aeronautic Meeting with the Aeronautic Dvisition of the ASME held at the Jefferson Hotel in St. Louis on May 29, 1929.  Both Wright and Stefansson were speakers at the event.  The program is four pages on a bifolium, measures 8 by 6.25 inches, and in overall fine condition.

WRIGHT WAS THE AMERICAN INVENTOR TO FLY THE WORLD’S FIRST SUCCESSFUL MANNED FLIGHT AND STEFANSSON WAS THE CANADIAN EXPLORER BEST KNOWN FOR HIS EXPEDITIONS TO THE ARCTIC

Following the death of his brother Wilbur in 1912, Orville carried their legacy alone towards an exciting future.  He built an aeronautics laboratory and dedicated himself to developing and inventing aeronautical devices and equipment.  He also stayed active in the public eye by promoting aeronautics and inventing.  An interesting piece signed by both Wright (1871-1948), the American inventor to fly the world’s first successful manned flight, and Stefansson (1879-1962), the Canadian explorer and ethnologist best known for his expeditions to the Arctic and for his studies of the native peoples there.
