New and Improved!

You are purchasing a 3D printed compatible hood for the 21-35 Zeiss Contarex lenses.

The original Contarex Zeiss hood, lens and Bullseye body ARE NOT included. They are there only for reference.

Review from recent buyers of my Contarex Shades:

  • Wow! This is a terrific product! You should make one for the 35mm (I did!)

  • LOVE THIS SHADE! CAN'T BELIEVE HOW GREAT IT FITS! A++++++

I designed this hood to be used in place of my genuine Zeiss 21-35 hood. As you can see in the photos the hood I designed is a perfect replacement of the very expensive Zeiss hood. I went through a dozen different model designs (done in SolidWorks) to get a nice fit on the B56 bayonet and as smooth as possible finish (while keeping the print time down).

Why? Well the Contarex body is heavy body, and the 35 lens is also heavy. All that weight, combined with the slightest bump on a hard surface translates into a dent! Nobody wants to have their expensive Zeiss hood dented! One more reason: An original hood, with minimal dents will cost you around $150.00!

3D printing could have a few anomalies like bumps or small gaps. It is possible to make it very smooth but that would take hours of filling gaps, sanding and painting. You can do that if you want to, but it will not change the effectiveness of the hood, it is purely cosmetic.

Each hood and cap takes almost two hours to print!
