HARBURG and FRED SAIDY musical comedy "JAMAICA" at the Imperial Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 31st, 1957 and ran for 555 performances.) ..... The musical starred LENA HORNE and RICARDO MONTALBAN and featured JOSEPHINE PREMICE, JOE ADAMS, ERIK RHODES, OSSIE DAVIS, AUGUSTINE RIOS and ADELAIDE HALL. The lead dancers were ALVIN AILEY and CHRISTYNE LAWSON ..... Side note: The USS Nautilus (SSN-571) was the world's first operational nuclear-powered submarine.
