This is a rare ticket envelope and original ticket stub from the December 15th, 1971 matinee performance of the Original Broadway production of the ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER and TIM RICE musical hit "JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 12th, 1971 and ran for 711 performances.) ..... The musical starred JEFF FENHOLT in the title role, YVONNE ELLIMAN as "Mary Magdalene" and BEN VEREEN as "Judas Iscariot" and the cast included BERRY DENNEN, PAUL AINSLEY, BOB BINGHAM, CHARLOTTE CROSSLEY, TED NEELEY (who would star as "Jesus" in the 1973 film adaptation), ROBERT LU PONE, SAMUEL E. The December 15th, 1971 ticket stub measures approx. 1 1/2" X 1 3/8" inches ..... CONDITION: With the exception of clean punched hope in the top right corner and the performance details written on the front of the envelope, this rare set is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
