The leaves taste like watercress, the flowers add a spicy decorative touch to salads and the green seeds can be pickled and chopped as a substitute for capers.

Nasturtium seeds can be sown directly into position - 25cm / 10” apart April - June for flowering June through October and often until the first frost or sown under gladd from January.

NOTE: Soak nasturtium seeds overnight before planting to speed germination.

For greenhouse plants: Germinate at 15-20C (77-68F) in 7.5cm pots. Plant out after risk of frost and ensure plants are well rooted in their pots. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 25cm (10") apart.
