This magnificent example is unmarked (but positive acid tested for silver) and has a European-style crown suspension most likely made by Arthus Bertrand & Cie. of Paris. A similar example has been recently sold by Christies, see link below.

Founded by Emperor Yohannes IV in 1874. It has been presented to figures as diverse as Queen Victoria (in 1897 on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee) and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The Order was abolished in 1974.
