Description:
This  is a sweet mountain lion fetish by Zuni artist Bennie Bacy.  He is made of pink dolomite and has a turquoise heartline and turquoise eyes. His lines are ery sleek.  He has a prayer bundle tied to his back made of coral and turquoise beads.  He is signed BB.  In Native American cultures the mountain lion represents leadership, boundaries and setting a good example to its followers.

Many people collect fetishes today due to the diversity of the Zuni artisans and the meanings associated with them.  Also the beauty of the stones used, which are often incorporated into the design of the animal. They are small sculptures with spiritual meaning and are portable and evoke emotion when held and viewed.
