The coin was approved by the couple themselves and shows Ms Markle clutching her fiance's arm in a pose they first struck during their official engagement photocall. The setting of their meeting was relaxed and informal, which is reflected in the portrait of the couple.
It is Ms Meghan Markle's first and last appearance on any UK coin by the Royal Mint, with artists being invited into Kensington Palace for a special photoshoot to help them capture the couple's likeness.
Prince Harry and former Suits actress Ms Meghan Markle wed on May 19 in the grand surrounds of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Anne Jessopp, the Royal Mint's chief executive, said: "It has been an honour for the Royal Mint to work closely with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to create the authentic royal wedding coin celebrating this most British of celebrations."
The pair can be seen looking lovingly into each other's eyes and highlights the easy familiarity and connection between them.

Some of the eBayers with a beady eye have spotted an interesting fact and sent us a message asking:
"Why does the coin bear the name of Prince Henry (and not Prince Harry)? Was it a mistake?" Rest assured it was not a spelling mistake or some sort of an error. Prince Harry's full name was actually His Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex until he stepped down from Royal Family on 31st March, 2020.
The same name was written on baby Archie's birth certificate in May 2019.
