Other information: The committee of Rivers and Harbors submitted to the war department, and by the secretary of war referred to the Chief Engineer of the army, and by him transmitted to the engineer in charge of the canal. Messers Byrne and Speed now occupy ground belonging to the United States a part of the grounds of the Louisville and Portland canal.
