Description
FEMALE DB9 adapter / breakout board with 3 pins (2,3,5) connected to spring / push-fit terminal blocks, allowing simple and quick connections for prototyping or permanent installation.

Two versions are available: This listing is for the FEMALE variant.
  • Female DB9 with Screwlock / Jack screws for mounting the adaptor board to a wall box or panel that has a DB9 cut-out
  • Male DB9 also with Screwlock / Jack screws for mounting the adaptor board to a wall box or panel that has a DB9 cut-out -  see alternative listing in my eBay shop.
Screwlock / Jack screws are the hex standoffs often fitted on D-SUB connectors. They are threaded for #4-40 UNC screws. They are for connecting to a cable which has thumbscrews or for mounting in a wall plate / panel which has a DB9 cut-out

Details
The small footprint means that the end profile of the breakout board is no wider than the connector itself. This can be important for installations where equipment contains multiple connectors which are spaced closely together. These adapter boards can be mounted directly to the equipment without using extension cables.

These adapter boards are used for experimentation or prototype work with RS-232 serial ports, I/O cards, and any other device that uses a DB9 connector.
